The Technivorm-Moccamasters are hand-made in the Netherlands using respected Dutch materials and advanced technology. Each brewer is specifically designed for reliability and durability, not to mention, to produce a stellar cup of coffee!
The perfect brewing temperature is delivered by a 1475 watt copper heating element which boils the water. This overheated 210+ degree F steamy water mixture naturally rises up the glass feeder tube, without the aid of a pump (the reason it is incredibly quite), to a hollow stainless steel bar across the top. The hot steamy water cools as it rises and condenses at the top of the container. Then, it is forced to "walk the plank", the metal rod spanning from the water to the coffee, through the spray head holes to its final destination, the waiting sea basket of coffee grinds. During this trek, the water has cooled to its perfect brew temperature of 195-200 degrees F.
